The time for training during the day has been a concept of wide debate, and researchers from Denmark are starting to shed light on it. They tested the metabolic effects and energy expenditure in mice when training in the morning or at night.

They found that when the training was performed in the morning, there was an enhancement of the use of carbohydrates and fats, which means a higher metabolic response while training in the evening generated a higher overall systemic energy expenditure in the following hours.
