Fish Oil, Stress, and Aging

 

Fish oil has proven to have tremendous benefits for human health and on this occasion, researchers from Ohio are showing even more stress-related benefits.

 

They found that the use of fish oil at even a small dose of 2.5g per day for 4 months, compared to a placebo, generated:

  • A decrease in cortisol of 19%
  • A decrease in pro-inflammatory protein IL6 of 33%
  • And prevented the decrease of telomerase and anti-inflammatory protein expression after a stressful event by 24% and 20% respectively.

Showing how fish oil contributes to stress resilience and healthy aging.
