STRUCTURAL ASSESSMENT

A balanced body is a stronger and healthier body.

As a strength coach or a personal trainer you might have different types of clients. They all will have different needs that are largely determined by the biomechanical demands of their sports and daily live.

It is not reasonable to think that the training program for a baseball player could be the same as one for an Ironman competitor. The same applies for the executive that is sitting behind his desk 8 hours a day, or the firefighter dealing with high resistance tasks.

In order to provide your trainees with the right training guidance you need to assess their bodies’ mechanics, find the weak links and work towards balanced and stronger structure.

In the Structural Assessment class you will learn how to properly assess the structural needs of the client and how to address them to ensure better performance and healthier movement patterns.

All the tools taught in class will require the most basic equipment, in such a way that they can be performed virtually at any gym around the world.

By completing this course, you will have all the structural information to properly make the right decisions in prescribing choice and order of exercises.

In the online part of this class you will learn:

How to properly assess the upper and lower body in terms of:
• Flexibility
• Strength
• Corrective exercises
• Progressions

During the in-person part of the class, your questions about the material will be answered, and a demonstration of a full assessment will be done to illustrate in practice the application of the knowledge.

Also, this class has a practical exam, and the minimum grade to pass is 80%.

Class Outline
10:00 – 10:30: Solving questions and doubts from the online material
10:30 – 11:30: Upper body flexibility testing
11:40 – 12:30: Lower body flexibility testing
12:30 – 14:00: Lunch break
14:00 – 15:00: Upper body strength testing
15:10 – 16:00: Lower body stress testing
16:15 – 17:00: Overhead squat testing
17:10 – 18:00: Q&A
